The August calculation already uses "average prices" for June 2026. And there:
vegetables - UAH 60.67/kg: +245%;
fruit and berries - UAH 214.28/kg: +263%;
dried fruit - UAH 400/kg: +300%;
spices - UAH 1,355.60/kg: +203%;
rye bread - UAH 83/kg: +68%;
sugar - UAH 44.99/kg: +61%.
According to official data from the Main Statistics Department in Kharkiv region, in June 2026 the consumer price index for food was 106.7% of December 2025. That is, the overall growth for this group was about 6.7%, not 200-300%.
Of course, the consumer price index for a group of goods and the price change of a specific item are not identical indicators. But when an official calculation shows fruit becoming 3.6 times more expensive in half a year, vegetables 3.4 times and dried fruit 4 times, that is reason enough to ask to see the original source of these "average prices".
