The city council gave us an official reply with a detailed funding table for 2026.
UAH 8.37 million is allocated for meals. As of 23 September, UAH 3.27 million had been used.
Of this, UAH 2.56 million has already been spent from the city budget, and UAH 0 from the new state subvention of UAH 3.045 million.
In April-May one portion in Chuhuiv cost UAH 100 and was fully paid from the city budget.
From the new school year it is already UAH 130 per pupil per day.
For grades 1-4 the state covers UAH 50 and the city adds UAH 80. For grades 5-11 it is UAH 60 from the state and another UAH 70 from the city budget.
And here we cannot help mentioning neighbouring communities in the same Kharkiv region.
In Zmiiv it is the same UAH 130.
And in Dergachi it is UAH 90 for grades 1-4 and UAH 100 for grades 5-11.
Now for the kitchens.
In 2026 UAH 21.03 million is allocated for the reconstruction and modernisation of school canteens in the Chuhuiv community: UAH 18.57 million from the state budget and UAH 2.46 million from the city budget.
And almost all of this money is concentrated on one site - Chuhuiv Lyceum No. 5.
UAH 20.177 million is allocated for its canteen and kitchen.
That is about 96% of all funds the community has planned for kitchen modernisation.
Yet as of 23 September not a single hryvnia of the state UAH 18.574 million had been used. Of local funds, only UAH 79.9 thousand has been spent on this site - on furniture and adjusting the design and estimate documentation.
In total, of the UAH 21 million planned for the community's kitchens, about UAH 236 thousand has actually been used - just over 1%.
We keep showing how the school meals reform really works in the regions - wait for your region. Which one should we look at next?
