Verkhovna Rada committee responds to RESISTANCE petition on directing 100% of the military levy to the army

The case in briefRESISTANCE MEDIA

The Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance, Tax and Customs Policy has considered the RESISTANCE petition on directing 100% of the military levy straight to the needs of the army and has given an official reply. Although the petition did not collect the required number of signatures because of the platform's problematic functionality and the lack of an option to sign via Bank ID, it was recognised as important and considered in the established procedure.

The reply says: "Your appeal has been considered, and the proposals have been brought to the attention of MPs to be taken into account in further legislative work." This shows that every voice matters. Petitions are the voice of society.

As a reminder, the military levy that Ukrainians consistently pay is not directed straight to the army. It goes into the general budget, where it is distributed among various ministries, including to maintain the state apparatus and agencies that have nothing to do with the Armed Forces. We are talking about tens of billions of hryvnias, about UAH 50 billion a year. This situation causes outrage in society. People pay the military levy and expect every hryvnia to go specifically to the needs of the troops, weapons and supplies for units.

RESISTANCE demands: 100% of the military levy must go exclusively to the army, namely to a special fund of the state budget, with subsequent direct transfer to the accounts of military units of Ukraine's Defence and Security Forces!
