Halushchenko, Mindich, Sivkovych and $112 million: "the tip of the iceberg" that leads to Bankova

The case in briefRESISTANCE MEDIA

It all started with an everyday story. The children of Halushchenko and Tymur Mindich went to the same school and were in the same class. Halushchenko himself names roughly 2018 or 2019 as the time they met. But the point of entry matters, because from there a financial story begins to unfold around Mindich, which later grows into the Midas case. And today we see $112 million in offshore accounts, trust structures and international financial intermediaries, so it is wrong to call the exposed funds Halushchenko's money, because in reality it is an "obshchak", a common fund. This is how a casual acquaintance grew into a connection at the centre of a large-scale energy scheme - Mindichgate.

Let's go further. Halushchenko headed the Ministry of Energy from 2021 to 2025 - a period of total control over the energy sector of a country at war. Flows, tariffs, procurement, international aid. It was in 2021, while he was still working at Energoatom, that a "laundering" fund was created as part of the Midas case. These $112 million were absorbed through a network of closed trusts in the Seychelles, with the involvement of financier Aivar Omson. Omson is linked to Semion Mogilevich and Dmytro Firtash. This also gives food for thought: it is a financial architecture with deeper criminal connections.

"Mindichgate is just the tip of the iceberg", NABU detective Ruslan Mahomedrasulov, who obtained the "Mindich tapes", once said in court, meaning that we see only the surface of the scheme. If the infrastructure was created back in 2021 and the money was hidden in complex trusts, we are talking about a global mechanism.

A separate focus on Mindich, who now lives peacefully in Israel. The scale of Midas goes beyond Ukrainian jurisdiction. If law enforcement has got hold of the trust documents, it means the structure was real and documented, as was the "obshchak" that was accumulated and distributed among people in the government and on Bankova. Halushchenko could not have stayed in office for four years without political trust at the highest level. And that automatically raises the question of Zelensky. Who knew everything. All strategic personnel decisions during the war go through Bankova. And if the key figures belong to the inner circle of the head of state, the scale of the story goes beyond the circle of Mindich, Halushchenko, Chernyshov and the Tsukermans.

Energoatom and the Russian trail. It is also worth recalling Halushchenko's early career at Energoatom, where he held the posts of lawyer, executive director for legal affairs and vice president (2013-2014 and 2020-2021). There he was linked to Andriy Derkach, an MP with pro-Russian influence, and Volodymyr Sivkovych, a traitor whom the investigation identified as a top agent of the Russian FSB. Tellingly, it was during the period of these connections that Energoatom lost $28 million in cases lost in Russian arbitration. This adds another dimension to a picture in which the pro-Russian trail ran through real, active agent networks working in the interests of Moscow's special services.

And now Halushchenko is in court, where he is being set bail. The questions are for President Volodymyr Zelensky and the entire Bankova structure. Because either this was a multi-level scheme with political cover, or the country has for years been run by people who do not control their inner circle. And in wartime both options sound like a complete catastrophe.

This is not a glitch but a symptom of a system that increasingly resembles a criminal model of governance rather than a state one. Bail for corrupt officials must be abolished immediately! All participants in Mindichgate must be brought to justice!
