In 2022 NABU put him on the wanted list in a case of false declaration. It concerned almost
UAH 1.79 million of information that, according to the investigation, was not reported.
The NACP also found that for over half a year Volynets used
a Toyota Highlander registered to his son, but did not declare the right to use the car. The NACP estimated its value at over UAH 1 million.
How did the case end? Not with an acquittal. In 2023 the HACC closed the proceedings because the statute of limitations had expired.
Journalists from Skhemy also looked into Volynets's purchase of an apartment in the Kyiv residential complex Bulvar Fontaniv for over UAH 7.5 million and two parking spaces. Questions arose about the origin of part of the funds. Volynets explained that a woman he lived with helped him financially.
SAPO tried to recover part of the apartment's value as an unjustified asset, but the HACC rejected the claim.
Another interesting coincidence: Bihus.Info counted Volynets among MPs who systematically acted on issues beneficial to Rinat Akhmetov's business. And his son Andrii, as Skhemy found, worked at Metinvest, part of Akhmetov's business group.
In July 2025 Volynets also voted for bill No. 12414, which caused mass protests because it restricted the independence of NABU and SAPO.
And now - to Poltava.
When the medics' protest took place, which RESISTANCE helped organise, Volynets quickly published a post about their struggle.
But for some reason he did not mention RESISTANCE and the people who had worked on the problem for months, gathered information and organised the protest.
Although an MP does not have to wait for a ready-made protest. He has a mandate, deputy requests, committees, the rostrum of the Verkhovna Rada and political influence. He could have helped medics long ago.
So we advise medics to look not at the nice sign "independent trade union", but at who heads it, who works for whom, whom these people repost, whom they meet and whom they support politically.
Because we are left with a simple question:
where does independent trade union activity end and politics begin? And why does an MP need such a convenient network of "independent" trade unions?
Join RESISTANCE.
