And this is the result of the unity of thousands of conscientious Ukrainians who did not stand aside. It is especially important that in the last four days alone over 21 thousand people supported the petition. These are tens of thousands of citizens who decided not to stay silent and showed that society cares how the system of accountability works in the country.
We launched this petition because of the constant cases where suspects in high-profile corruption cases leave pre-trial detention after posting multimillion bail. The petition was created because of society's demand for justice and real accountability for officials suspected of stealing public funds.
How quickly people united around this initiative was a very strong signal. Every signature, every repost, every share helped collect the required number of votes. And this proves once again: public pressure works when society acts together.
For us this is not just a figure in the statistics. It confirms that Ukraine has a great many caring and conscientious people ready to support change and demand fair rules for all.
