According to the official, travel restrictions will remain in place until martial law ends. This will be followed by a brief settling-in stage - to avoid collapse at checkpoints and to take security risks into account - after which «full freedom to travel» will begin. At the same time, Podolyak advised men to consider opportunities in Ukraine, as right after the war the state will roll out recovery programmes and jobs.
As a reminder, on 27 August the government updated the border-crossing rules and allowed men aged 18 to 22 inclusive to leave Ukraine under martial law. To cross the border, this category must have a passport for foreign travel and a military registration document (including in electronic form). The decision took effect after the resolution was officially published, and border guards promptly clarified the list of documents.
