Almost a million in bonuses: how Poltava regional hospital got around the orders

The case in briefRESISTANCE MEDIA

While medics ask where to find money for salaries, Poltava regional hospital found a way to award almost a million hryvnias in bonuses. Unlawfully, though.

Almost a million in bonuses: how Poltava regional hospital got around the orders
War, 29.09.2026

According to the court verdict, from February 2024 to July 2025 the chief accountant inflated bonuses for herself and six other employees. Management orders contained one set of amounts, while larger ones were entered into the system. The payments were signed with her electronic signature and that of the hospital director, to which she had access. In total - 971 thousand hryvnias.

And the outcome? A plea deal with the prosecutor, a five-year prison sentence - and release from serving it with a one-year probation period. She is also banned for a year from holding positions with managerial and economic functions.

The court took into account her admission of guilt, cooperation with the investigation and the fact that the damage was compensated. The money was returned - good. But we are interested in something else: how did bonuses not provided for by orders go through nine times in a year and a half? Who was supposed to control these payments, and why did the system work only when almost a million had already been paid out?

We would like to see the same agility when it comes to the salaries of ordinary medical workers.
