On 16 January the so-called report of Lviv Mayor Sadovyi took place in a hangar of the former Lviv tram depot. Why so-called? Because there are a great many questions about this "event".
The Lviv mayor's report was announced as "I invite you to a meeting to analyse together what has been done and plan what Lviv will be like in 2026." Unfortunately, Andriy Ivanovych forgot to mention who exactly he wanted to "analyse" and "plan" together with.
In fact, the announced picture did not match reality. The report for 2025 and the planning for 2026 effectively took place behind the closed doors of a hangar in the former tram depot. The guest list was drawn up directly at the city hall under the watchful eye of Sadovyi's vassals. And when RESISTANCE activists wanted to attend the meeting simply to ask the mayor questions, they were told plainly: "This is a closed event." And when those present wanted to ask Lviv's burgomaster questions, they were told: "The mayor's report is not the place for questions." So it turned out that the announced "together" was not together at all. The declared dialogue with the public simply turned into Sadovyi's monologue.
According to Olesia Fedoryshyn, head of the Lviv branch of the NGO "RESISTANCE", since members of the organisation were not allowed into the hangar, they had to simply hold up posters in the windows of the building where the so-called report was taking place.
Meanwhile, analysts of Transparency International Ukraine's "Transparent Cities" programme noted that the format of the Lviv mayor's report did not fully comply with the law and transparency practices. According to them, Lviv residents were unable to ask the mayor they elected the questions that interested them.
