In 2023 Farkhad Abdulaiev (Doctor of Medical Sciences, Doctor of Biological Sciences, professor, infectious disease specialist) was sentenced to 15 years in prison for high treason. According to the SBU, he was recruited by the FSB in Crimea, collected information for Russian intelligence services about Ukrainian soldiers treated in hospitals in Kyiv region, and looked for contacts of Ukrainian and foreign scientists for further recruitment. In return he was promised the post of "deputy health minister" in the occupation administration of Crimea. Later the verdict was overturned and the case was sent for retrial. Abdulaiev himself said he admitted guilt only to be included in an exchange to Russia.

And here a natural question arises: how is a person who should be in prison today calmly at liberty and engaged in public activity?

No less outrageous is the conduct of the CSM Kyiv clinic. Did they check who exactly they hire and present as the face of their clinic? Do they consider it normal to work with a person who was convicted of high treason, gave an interview to a Russian publication, publicly stated his desire to be exchanged to Russia and continues his public activity in Russian?

If the court hearing the case, the prosecutor's office supporting the charges and the SBU, which publicly announced it had exposed Abdulaiev's intelligence activity, cannot or will not explain why a person previously convicted of treason is today freely engaged in public activity, then it is they who must answer for society's anger.
