Iryna Vereshchuk wants to keep her post in the Office of the President and is seeking Zelensky's favour

The case in briefRESISTANCE MEDIA

Following the terrorist attack in Lviv and Zelensky's statement that the perpetrators were recruited via Telegram, Iryna Vereshchuk said the platform should be banned. This is nothing more than an attempt to flatter the president in order to keep her post in the Office of the President.

Banning Telegram. Everyone understands that the statement about a possible Telegram ban is populism. Part of society supports tough decisions for security reasons, while others question the effectiveness of such initiatives and see them as more of a political reaction than a systemic response to threats.

It is worth recalling who Vereshchuk is: an MP of the 9th convocation from Servant of the People, who in 2021-2024 headed the Ministry for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories as deputy prime minister. After that she moved to work in the Office of the President.

Questions without answers. After the start of the full-scale invasion, it was Vereshchuk who was responsible for humanitarian corridors, the evacuation of civilians and coordination of processes with the temporarily occupied territories. And it was her work that raised many questions. Some evacuations were marked by disruptions, mutual accusations between the sides and chaotic communication. Regional military administrations often ignored appeals from volunteers and civilians, who went in and brought people out under shelling. Critics accused the ministry of inefficiency and weak coordination, arguing that in reality volunteers took on the key role in evacuating people. There were also debates about cooperation with international structures, in particular the ICRC, and the real results of that cooperation.

All officials who during the full-scale war were and are responsible for people's lives and for humanitarian corridors must be held accountable. And one day, when the war ends, everything will become known, these statistics will come out, and we will understand the scale of the tragedy that officials allowed to happen.
