Cherkasy regional council member Yevhen Taran destroys a tree: community pressure got results
Destruction of a tree and inaction by the authorities: a local businessman, who is also a member of the Cherkasy Regional Council, Yevhen Taran, is destroying a walnut tree in the courtyard of an apartment building. The local authorities first said they could do nothing about it and simply threw up their hands. A living shield: concerned activists and co-owners of the building stood up to protect the tree as a living shield; specifically, the chair of the board of NGO RESISTANCE, Vira Bosa-Ivanenko, prevented the illegal felling. Only after that was the direct destruction of the green space stopped.
